“Big Surprise for Nation on August 14,” Says DG ISPR Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry

Rawalpindi: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan will present a “major surprise” to the nation on August 14, along with a grand military parade showcasing a glimpse of its defence capabilities.
Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi alongside Pakistan Navy and Air Force officials on the completion of one year of “Operation Haq,” he said the armed forces had fulfilled the expectations of the nation and defeated a much larger adversary in line with the vision of the political and military leadership.
“This August 14, there will be a grand parade, and a physical display of a small part of our strength will be shown to the public so that no one can later say they were not informed,” he said.
The DG ISPR stated that Pakistan’s armed forces had dealt a decisive blow to what he described as India’s narrative, adding that allegations linking Pakistan to terrorism had collapsed after recent events.
He reiterated that Pakistan and its armed forces remain fully prepared and united, describing the relationship between the military and the public as “like one body.”
Referring to regional tensions, he questioned India’s narrative regarding the Pahalgam incident, saying that a year later, no concrete evidence had been presented. He also criticized India for what he called the politicization of its military and repeated failure to substantiate its claims.
The military spokesperson further said that Pakistan continues to advocate peace in the region, adding that it had acted responsibly during the conflict and maintained regional stability.
He also made strong remarks against Indian political leadership, claiming that some leaders were using aggressive rhetoric. “If they want to speak this language, then let them come forward. We are ready,” he said.
He concluded by stating that Pakistan’s success in “Operation Haq” is widely recognized, even if not openly acknowledged, and added that the country remains firmly capable of defending its sovereignty at all costs.
