PM Shehbaz Sharif Credits Field Marshal Asim Munir for Facilitating Iran-US Talks

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir played a key role in bringing Iran and the United States to the negotiating table and facilitating efforts toward a ceasefire.
Addressing the International Paigham-e-Islam Conference in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said that Asim Munir made continuous day-and-night efforts to encourage both sides to engage in dialogue and pursue peace. He added that history would remember these efforts in golden words.
Sharif also praised Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for his significant contribution to the negotiations, describing his role as commendable.
The Prime Minister highlighted that this marked the first time since 1979 that US and Iranian leadership held direct talks in Islamabad. He termed it a modest yet important contribution by Pakistan toward peace in the Muslim world and global stability.
He expressed confidence that the ongoing dialogue would soon lead to lasting peace in the region and help prevent further loss of lives.
Sharif also paid tribute to Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, for his active role in supporting peace efforts.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance on key international issues, the Prime Minister said the country remains committed to its principled position on Palestine and Kashmir, and will continue to support the people of both regions until they achieve their rights.
