Mahmood Khan Achakzai Condemns Ethnic Hate, Defends Pashtun Community

Islamabad: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and head of the Tehreek Tahaffuz Ayeen Pakistan and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, has strongly condemned ethnic discrimination, stating that insulting any community is an affront to humanity.
In a post on his social media account X, Achakzai emphasized respect for all identities, saying that regardless of religion, beliefs, or cultural attire, every individual deserves dignity. “If I am Sindhi, this is my dress, this is my identity. Do not hate my attire,” he stated.
He further said that abusing Sindhis, بلوچ, Pashtuns, or any other قوم amounts to disrespecting humanity, adding that everyone has the right to live with dignity.
Responding to narratives labeling Pashtuns as terrorists, Achakzai questioned such claims by highlighting their contributions. He noted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provides around 100,000 personnel to Pakistan’s paramilitary forces.
“If Pashtuns are terrorists, then why are security guards at embassies across the country Pashtun?” he asked, expressing disappointment over such remarks.
Achakzai’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions around ethnic harmony and national unity, urging society to move away from prejudice and respect diversity.
