In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, the Sindh cabinet decided to provide public relief and approved the extension of the People’s Motorcycle Fuel Subsidy Program and reduction in sales tax.
Now the period of the People’s Motorcycle Fuel Subsidy Program has been extended till May 31, 2026. On the instructions of Chief Minister Sindh, Rs 2 billion will be released for May as fuel subsidy.
The cabinet was informed that motorcycle fuel subsidy payments are ongoing to more than 548,000 people under the fuel subsidy and Rs 1.096 billion has been distributed so far.
In addition, the Sindh cabinet also approved a major reduction in sales tax for motorcycle cap services.
According to the spokesperson for the Sindh Chief Minister, the cabinet has reduced sales tax from 5 percent to 2 percent, online drivers will be able to benefit from the government initiative.
