Aleema Khan Calls for Political Pressure, Says “Resistance Is the Only Way When Courts Remain Silent”

Rawalpindi: Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has urged the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to become more active, stating that “resistance is the only option when courts remain silent.”
Speaking to the media at Factory Naka on Adiala Road, she said the family wants Imran Khan’s medical treatment to be conducted in the presence of his relatives, adding that he is currently in need of proper healthcare at Shifa International Hospital.
Aleema Khan said that PTI is a political party and it is the responsibility of its leadership to exert pressure for his treatment and legal relief. She clarified that no formal call has been given to party workers, but only an appeal has been made to senior party office-bearers and leaders to step forward.
She claimed that several party supporters were detained recently, while elected representatives such as MNAs and MPAs were spared. “Our only demand is the treatment and release of Imran Khan,” she said, adding that he and his wife have been in solitary confinement for seven months.
Commenting on political strategy, she said that when courts and government institutions do not function properly, public pressure and political resistance become necessary and are permitted under the Constitution.
On a personal note, she also spoke about property matters, stating that an apartment previously linked to Imran Khan had already been sold, while her own apartment deal was cancelled and her payments were allegedly not returned.
Aleema Khan reiterated her call for parliamentarians and senators to visit and put pressure on authorities so that Imran Khan can receive medical treatment and his legal cases, including bail hearings, can proceed, ultimately leading to his release.
