Three Youths Offloaded at Sialkot Airport for Attempting Illegal Migration to Europe Under Umrah Cover

Sialkot: Three young men were offloaded by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at Sialkot International Airport after they allegedly attempted to use Umrah visas as a cover to illegally migrate to Europe through the “Dunki” route.

According to FIA sources, the suspects planned to travel to Saudi Arabia for Umrah and later proceed illegally to Greece via Libya. To avoid suspicion during immigration checks, the young men were accompanied by their mothers, while one of them was also traveling with his grandmother.

During questioning by FIA officials, the suspects admitted that their actual intention was to use Saudi Arabia as a transit point for illegal migration to Europe. The authorities became suspicious of their travel arrangements and conducted further inquiries, which revealed the plan.

The three men reportedly paid Rs55 million collectively to human smugglers for the illegal journey. FIA sources stated that they were in contact with a human smuggler originally from Mandi Bahauddin who is currently residing in Europe.

After being offloaded and taken into custody, the suspects’ mothers and grandmother also decided not to proceed with their Umrah trip.

The FIA has launched further investigations into the human smuggling network involved in organizing the illegal migration attempt.
