The United States had earlier handed over a total of 22 crew members from the seized Iranian vessel “Tosca” to Pakistan. U.S. officials stated that six of them had already been repatriated to a country in the region last week.
The vessel had been taken into custody by U.S. authorities for allegedly violating American sanctions on Iran.
