Lack of Basic Facilities at Green Bus Stops in Turbat Leaves Citizens Facing Severe Hardship in Extreme Heat

Turbat – Citizens in Kech district are facing serious difficulties due to the lack of basic facilities at Green Bus Service stops, with inadequate planning leaving the public struggling instead of receiving relief.
According to local residents, despite extreme weather conditions reaching up to 46°C, no proper shade shelters or waiting areas have been installed at bus stops. As a result, passengers are forced to wait under the open sun for long periods.
Citizens reported that women, children, and elderly passengers are particularly affected, often waiting 30 to 40 minutes in intense heat. During this time, many people reportedly experience health issues such as heatstroke, dehydration, and other heat-related illnesses.
Public circles stated that while the introduction of the Green Bus Service was a positive initiative, poor planning and lack of infrastructure have turned it into a source of hardship rather than convenience for the public.
They added that essential facilities such as shaded waiting areas, drinking water, and seating arrangements should have been ensured before launching the service.
Affected citizens have urged the district administration and relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and install shade structures at bus stops without delay to provide relief in the extreme heat.
Meanwhile, observers warned that if timely action is not taken, public frustration may increase. They appealed to the government to make the Green Bus Service truly public-friendly by urgently improving its basic infrastructure.
