If Journalists Feel Unsafe, Independent Journalism Cannot Exist,” Says Zamarak Khan Achakzai
Quetta – Awami National Party (ANP) parliamentary leader Engineer Zamarak Khan Achakzai has said that if journalists feel unsafe, independent and impartial journalism cannot survive, which in turn weakens the democratic structure.
In a statement, he emphasized that journalists in Balochistan have performed their duties under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions, continuing to raise the voice of truth. He noted that many journalists have also sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
He paid tribute to the martyred journalists, calling their sacrifices an unforgettable and bright chapter in history that will always be remembered.
Zamarak Khan Achakzai further said that ANP has always supported free, independent, and responsible journalism and will continue its struggle for the protection of journalists’ rights and freedom of expression at all levels.
He added that free press is the foundation of any democratic society, and journalists play a vital role in delivering accurate information to the public.
