PkMAP Terms Quetta Rocket Attacks ‘Government Failure,’ Demands Crackdown on Crime Networks

Quetta (Khabar Daily) — The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned recent rocket attacks on densely populated areas of Quetta, calling them a clear sign of failure on the part of the government and security institutions.
In a statement issued by its provincial secretariat, the party questioned how militant elements continue to carry out attacks and escape despite heavy deployment of Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, police presence, checkpoints, and road blockades across the city.
The statement raised concerns over the effectiveness of security spending, noting that billions of rupees are allocated annually for security, yet citizens remain unsafe. It questioned the origins and operations of armed groups carrying out such attacks.
PkMAP further alleged that armed individuals in vehicles with tinted windows are moving freely in Quetta and other districts, while drug dens and extortion networks are also active, reportedly under the protection of certain police stations.
The party demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in terrorist activities in affected areas including Ghbarag, Hanna, and Pashtunabad, and called for an indiscriminate operation against all crime hubs.
Emphasizing that the state’s primary responsibility is to protect citizens, PkMAP urged authorities to move beyond “all is well” statements and take concrete measures to restore public confidence and ensure safety.
