PTI Leader Shakeela Waheed Joins Pakistan Peoples Party

Islamabad: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Shakeela Waheed, has announced her decision to leave the party and join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), marking another political shift in the country.
According to a statement shared on PPP’s official social media account, Shakeela Waheed expressed full confidence in the party’s leadership. PPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari welcomed her into the party ranks.
Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said that under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP remains the only hope for the country, adding that the inclusion of capable individuals is a positive development.
He further noted that Shakeela Waheed’s induction would strengthen the party’s women’s wing and reiterated that PPP’s doors are open to all those who believe in democracy.

The development comes amid a series of political defections. Recently, Nazir Ahmed Advocate, Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, also joined PPP after resigning from PTI. Senior PPP leaders including Qamar Zaman Kaira and Amjad Advocate welcomed him into the party.
Earlier, PTI Gilgit-Baltistan Information Secretary Sajid Qureshi had also joined PPP along with several associates, highlighting an ongoing trend of political realignments.
