US-Iran Tensions: Trump Signals Ongoing Talks Amid Strong Claims

Former US President Donald Trump has issued a new statement following earlier warnings about potentially restarting conflict, offering a mix of tough rhetoric and diplomatic signals.
Trump said that phone negotiations with Iran are currently ongoing, but stressed that Iran must not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. He added that Iran would ultimately have to acknowledge defeat, claiming that the United States has already achieved most of its objectives in the conflict.
He further claimed that 82% of Iran’s missile capabilities have been destroyed and that 159 naval vessels were sunk. According to Trump, Iran’s currency has also lost significant value.
Trump also revealed that he held a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding both Iran and Ukraine. He stated that he urged Putin to end Russia’s war first before expecting any US assistance in achieving a ceasefire.
Additionally, Trump claimed that Putin expressed concern over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities.
