Pope Leo XIV Condemns Rising Islamophobia and Xenophobia in Europe and the U.S

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — **Pope Leo XIV** has strongly criticized the growing anti-Islam sentiments, racism, and anti-immigrant political campaigns in Europe and the United States.
Speaking to journalists during his flight back to Rome from visits to **Turkey and Lebanon**, the Pope highlighted that Islamophobia stems from a politics of fear and is fueled by those opposing the entry of migrants while promoting nationalism and racial discrimination.
The 70-year-old Pope, in his first foreign trip since assuming the papacy in May this year, stated that fear of Islam is deliberately created by individuals seeking to exclude people of other religions, races, or nationalities. He emphasized that such actions are **inhuman, unethical, and contrary to Christian teachings**.
Pope Leo XIV also criticized **U.S. President Donald Trump’s strict immigration policies**, labeling them as inhumane. He further urged the Church to advocate for **open borders between nations** and to dismantle social and racial barriers, promoting a message of inclusivity and human solidarity.
