Former UK NATO Commander Sir Richard Shirreff Warns of “Third World War

Sir Richard Shirreff, the former senior NATO commander from the United Kingdom, has warned that the world may already be witnessing the onset of a Third World War.

Speaking to a British newspaper, Shirreff commented on the escalating tensions following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and Iran’s subsequent retaliatory attacks on Gulf states. He emphasized that, as a former military official, he is not making such claims lightly but genuinely fears that the current global situation could constitute a major international conflict.

Shirreff noted that while wars often begin in one location, they frequently end up spreading to other regions, highlighting the unpredictable and far-reaching consequences of modern conflicts.
