Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch Calls for Inquiry into Rs13 Billion City Project in Balochistan

Turbat: Former Chief Minister Balochistan and central president of National Party Abdul Malik Baloch has demanded an investigation into alleged corruption in the Rs13 billion city development project in Balochistan’s Bleda area.
Addressing a meeting of the National Party’s Tehsil Council in Bleda Zruman, he said that the right of control over resources must be recognized for local communities and alleged that interference by institutions in the political and democratic process should be stopped.
He claimed that the mandate of the National Party had been “usurped” and that anti-Baloch elements were imposed on the people. He further alleged that nepotism and corruption were at their peak in Kech district, adding that public funds were being used for personal and group interests.
Dr. Baloch said that development projects in Bleda were only serving as a source of corruption, claiming that not even two kilometers of road had been completed under the Rs13 billion city project. He also alleged financial irregularities in “completion” work worth millions and called for a full inquiry into all projects, along with legal action against responsible project directors and contractor networks.
He emphasized that the National Party is a principled democratic force committed to protecting the political and economic rights of Balochistan. He reiterated the party’s stance on fair elections, rule of law, parliamentary supremacy, and restoration of genuine democracy.
He further stated that party workers should remain patient, strengthen their connection with the public, and work actively to make the organization more effective. He asserted that Bleda would remain a stronghold of the National Party.
The meeting also addressed organizational and political issues in detail, with participants agreeing on strategies to strengthen coordination between district and tehsil levels. Several party leaders, including Fida Hussain Dashti, retired Justice Shakeel Ahmed Baloch, Fida Jan Blidi, Sartaj Gachki, Muhammad Azim Blidi, Mir Faisal Blidi, and others, also addressed the gathering.
