Trump Says Second Round of Iran Talks Likely Friday, Hopes for “Good News”

WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed optimism that a second round of negotiations with Iran could take place on Friday, raising hopes for a positive outcome.
In an interview with an American newspaper, Trump said he has instructed the U.S. military to remain prepared for all possible scenarios. He added that talks with Iran could resume within the next 36 to 72 hours, with expectations of “good news” emerging from the next round.
The U.S. president also revealed that he had paused potential military action against Iran following a request from Pakistan’s leadership. According to Trump, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir urged the United States to hold off on any strike until a unified proposal from the Iranian leadership is presented.
In a message shared on social media, Trump said the ceasefire would be extended until the negotiation process is completed. He noted that the extension would remain in place until Iran formally submits its proposals, signaling a continued diplomatic approach to resolving tensions.
