Pakistan-China Investment Seminar Marks Beginning of Economic Transformation: Balochistan Governor

Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that the “Pakistan-China Investment Seminar 2026” represents the beginning of a new phase of economic growth and transformation, rather than just a formal gathering.

Addressing participants at the seminar held at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi, the governor expressed optimism about Pakistan’s economic future, stating that such initiatives could position the country—particularly Balochistan—as a hub of innovation and development in the region.

He emphasized the need to move beyond exporting raw minerals and instead focus on establishing processing plants within the province. According to him, this approach would help transform Balochistan into a modern industrial center and maximize the value of its natural resources.

The event was attended by Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong, along with representatives from the Pakistan China Economic and Cultural Council, including its president Baiyazid Khan Kasi, and Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade Bilal Kakar, among others.

Mandokhail highlighted that Pakistan offers vast and profitable investment opportunities across sectors such as energy, trade, agriculture, higher education, healthcare, and livestock. He assured investors that the government is committed to providing full protection and facilitating partnerships that contribute to long-term prosperity.

He further noted that Pakistan’s relationship with China is not just historical but a dynamic force driving progress. Stressing the importance of collaboration, he called for stronger links between universities and industry, and urged the inclusion of business leaders and economists in policymaking processes.

The governor concluded by encouraging stakeholders to work collectively toward sustainable development, stating that every investment and partnership contributes to building a brighter future for the country and its younger generation.
