Balochistan Government Launches Relief Package for Farmers Amid Rising Fuel Prices

Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has introduced an agricultural relief package to support farmers affected by rising fuel prices and regional tensions, with a focus on easing financial pressure on the sector.
As part of the initiative, the government has formally launched a thresher fuel subsidy scheme for wheat growers across the province.
Speaking on the occasion, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan, said that in the initial phase, subsidies have been transferred to the accounts of 3,102 farmers in Quetta. He added that payments to an additional 13,128 farmers will be completed within the next two to three days.
According to official figures, more than 85,000 farmers have been registered under the scheme, while over 74,000 applications have already been verified.
The chief minister stated that small-scale farmers with ready wheat crops are being prioritized for financial assistance. He noted that the fuel subsidy will help reduce threshing costs and ease the financial burden on farmers.
He further assured that the registration and verification process is ongoing and that all eligible farmers will receive subsidies in phases. The provincial government, he said, remains committed to supporting farmers during challenging economic conditions and ensuring the protection of agricultural production.
