329 Children Contract HIV in Sindh This Year, Health Experts Raise Alarm

Health authorities have reported a concerning rise in HIV cases among children in Sindh, with 329 infections recorded so far this year.

According to officials, the affected children include 188 boys and 141 girls. Experts warn that the spread of HIV among children continues at an alarming pace, with an average of three to four new pediatric cases emerging daily across the province.

Data from the health department shows that a total of 894 HIV cases were reported in Sindh during the first three months of 2026. The monthly breakdown includes 294 cases in January, 324 in February, and 276 in March.

Medical experts have expressed serious concern over the trend, urging immediate preventive measures, improved screening, and stronger public health interventions to control the spread of the virus, particularly among vulnerable populations.

The situation highlights the need for increased awareness, early diagnosis, and access to treatment to prevent further escalation of HIV infections in the region.
