Balochistan to Introduce Digital Monitoring System for Field Officers’ Attendance and Performance

QUETTA: The government of Balochistan has decided to introduce a modern digital monitoring system to ensure attendance, performance, and effective supervision of field officers across the province.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, where progress on ongoing development projects was reviewed in detail. Senior officials and departmental secretaries briefed the meeting on project implementation, challenges, and proposed solutions.
According to the new system, a live location-based attendance mechanism will be implemented to verify the presence of officers at their designated postings. The system is aimed at ensuring real-time monitoring of development projects and improving administrative accountability.
The chief minister directed that all ongoing development schemes must be completed before June and warned that any delay or negligence would not be tolerated. He stressed that district officers must remain in the field instead of staying in Quetta, and ensure high-quality execution of projects as their top priority.
He further instructed strict action against officers found absent from field duties for more than 10 days without justification.
Bugti said the digital monitoring system would enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in governance, ensuring proper and effective use of public resources.
He reiterated that transparency, quality, and timely completion of development projects remain the government’s top priorities.
The meeting also appreciated the efforts of Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan for regularly holding secretary committee meetings and supporting reforms aimed at improving governance in the province.
