Who Is the Woman Seen Alongside US Vice President During Islamabad Visit?

ISLAMABAD: A woman seen accompanying the US Vice President during recent talks in Islamabad has sparked curiosity on social media, with many کاربران asking about her identity.
According to official information, the woman is Natalie A. Baker, who is currently serving as the Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Embassy Islamabad.
As per details available on the embassy’s website, Baker, a senior Foreign Service Minister Counselor, assumed her role as interim Chargé d’Affaires in January 2025. She had earlier arrived in Islamabad in August 2024 as Deputy Chief of Mission.
Prior to her posting in Pakistan, Baker served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Doha, Doha, Qatar, from August 2021 to July 2024. She has also held key positions at the US Department of State, including Director of the Office of North African Affairs in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
Her previous assignments include serving as Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires in Libya, Deputy Director of the Iran Regional Presence Office at the US Consulate in Dubai, and Economic Counselor at the US Embassy in Kuwait.
Between 2009 and 2011, Baker worked as a Political and Economic Counselor in Libya during a period when bilateral relations were being restored after nearly three decades. She remained there until February 2011, when the Libyan revolution forced the evacuation of the US Embassy.
Her other diplomatic roles include Special Assistant in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Consular Officer in Islamabad, and Cultural Affairs Officer in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
