Temporary Mechanical Rides Banned in Punjab During Eid-ul-Adha

Lahore: The Punjab government has imposed a complete ban on temporarily installed mechanical rides during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, citing public safety concerns.
According to the Punjab Home Department, the decision aims to protect human lives, as temporary mechanical rides often do not comply with safety protocols and pose serious risks due to overloading and structural instability. All Deputy Commissioners across the province have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the ban.
However, mechanical rides permanently installed in amusement parks will be allowed to operate, provided they have a valid fitness certificate. The Home Department has made it mandatory for ride operators and owners to obtain fitness certificates from the relevant Deputy Commissioners before Eid.
District administrations have been instructed to inspect all mechanical rides for compliance with safety standards. Authorities noted that a large number of families, especially children, visit amusement parks during Eid holidays, making safety measures all the more essential.
Only those permanent rides that meet all required safety protocols will be permitted to function during the festive period.
