Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Condemns Marginalization of Pashtuns in Balochistan, Stresses Need for Strong Democratic System

Quetta: Leaders of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party asserted that the oppression and deprivation of Pashtuns in the country and the Pashtun-Baloch province are unacceptable. They emphasized that strengthening a genuine democratic system and empowering elected parliaments as the foundation for both domestic and foreign policy formulation is essential.
The remarks were made by Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, Salahuddin Khan Achakzai, and other party speakers at a ceremony in Kali Mulk Pukar Khan Mahtarzai, where the grandsons of the late Malik Baz Muhammad Khan Mahtarzai, along with 50 other individuals, joined the party.
Speakers highlighted that real democratic political parties in the country have historically faced obstruction, and undemocratic forces have hindered the growth of democracy. They criticized the systemic denial of equal rights to Pashtuns, describing how they are treated as second-class citizens and deprived of business opportunities, employment, education, and basic services.
The party also condemned the fact that only a minimal share of the provincial budget is allocated to Pashtuns, calling it a violation of justice and equality. Leaders urged new members to contribute actively to organizing the party in their local areas, following the principles set by the party’s historical leaders who fought against colonialism and for the constitutional rights of the Pashtun nation.
