Israel Undermining Efforts to End War, Says Turkish President Erdoğan

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has accused the Israeli government of consistently undermining efforts to end the ongoing conflict, while affirming that Turkey will continue all possible initiatives to achieve a ceasefire.

Speaking after a weekly cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey remains committed to creating conditions for negotiations and silencing weapons, stating that any opportunity for dialogue will be pursued with sincerity.

He described the war as “illegal, senseless, and extremely costly for all of humanity,” expressing hope that it would come to an end soon. Erdoğan warned that as the conflict prolongs, there is a risk of it spreading to other countries in the region, noting that Turkey continues to face serious concerns despite the conflict entering its 38th day.

In response to growing threats, Erdoğan added that both he and his ministers are intensifying diplomatic contacts. Turkey has also engaged in mediation efforts to end the war, including talks in coordination with Pakistan and Egypt, aiming to restore peace and stability in the region.
