Iran FM Rejects ‘False Propaganda’; Ishaq Dar Thanks Counterpart for Clarification

Islamabad: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has strongly rejected what he termed as “false propaganda,” clarifying that Iran never refused to participate in talks in Islamabad.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Araghchi dismissed reports suggesting Iran had declined negotiations, calling them fabricated narratives circulated by sections of Western and Indian media. He reiterated that Iran remains open to dialogue and is committed to achieving a complete and lasting end to ongoing conflict.

The Iranian minister also appreciated Pakistan for its diplomatic efforts, describing its role as constructive in promoting regional peace and reducing tensions in the Middle East.

Responding to the statement, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar thanked Araghchi for the clarification, referring to him as “my dear brother” and expressing gratitude for addressing the issue.

Earlier, Araghchi had also conveyed appreciation for Pakistan’s support and solidarity, emphasizing that Iran is interested in any solution that ensures a sustainable and comprehensive end to war. He concluded his message with a note of thanks in Urdu, saying “Pakistan Zindabad” and expressing gratitude to the country.
