We Never Cared About Applause or Criticism, Says Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui

Karachi: Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, said that his party has never been concerned about applause or criticism.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a hockey ground at Allama Iqbal Government School in Karachi, he remarked that he should have been there as a host rather than a chief guest.

Siddiqui stated that Pakistan was created for the Muslim Ummah, but certain segments have been sidelined. He added that despite facing injustices, Karachi continues to sustain the country economically.

He emphasized that peace in Karachi is directly linked to national stability, adding, “We came to the Pakistan envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam, but it is unclear whose country it has become now.”

The MQM-P chief warned that if Karachi suffers, those who have benefited over the past 17 years will realize its importance. He also expressed concern that some view the city as a rival rather than a national asset.

Siddiqui concluded by saying that hostility towards Karachi is equivalent to hostility towards Pakistan, adding that those who created the country are capable of running it effectively.
