PTI Rejects Fuel Price Hike, Barrister Gohar Demands Immediate Reversal

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the recent increase in petroleum prices, calling it unnecessary and demanding its immediate withdrawal.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad alongside other party leaders, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan criticized the government, saying it had failed to reach a deal with the International Monetary Fund on subsidies. He accused the prime minister of misleading the public, stating that while earlier decisions not to raise prices were celebrated, the eventual increase had severely impacted ordinary citizens and poor farmers.

Gohar further alleged that the government may now resort to “fraud” in the name of subsidies.

Meanwhile, Taimur Saleem Jhagra said the “petrol bomb” had already been dropped, and the new prices were adding further pressure. He termed it one of the worst increases in the past four years and criticized the government for announcing the hike through ministers instead of the prime minister directly addressing the nation.
