Curfew Eased Gradually in Zehri as Security Situation Improves, Says Nawab Sanaullah Zehri

Khuzdar: Former Chief Minister of Balochistan and central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, has said that the security situation in Zehri is steadily improving following a successful operation by security forces, and a phased relaxation of curfew has begun.

Speaking to various delegations in Khallq Jhalawan, Zehri stated that the curfew had been imposed due to unrest and the presence of militants in the area. However, with conditions now stabilizing, authorities have started easing restrictions after Eid, with further relaxation expected as normalcy returns.

He emphasized that district administration and security agencies are in constant coordination to ensure lasting peace, urging residents to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies so that the curfew can be lifted completely at the earliest.

Zehri highlighted that the restoration of peace would help revive local trade, education, healthcare, and agriculture. He noted that despite the curfew, cotton farmers in Zehri were supported by security forces to transport their produce safely to markets. Hundreds of trucks carrying cotton were dispatched, generating millions of rupees for local farmers.

Expressing concern over rising incidents of theft and robbery in Khuzdar and Baghbana, Zehri warned that criminal elements would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said both state institutions and tribal mechanisms would take strict action against those disturbing peace, adding that a tribal-level strategy is also being devised to curb crime.

Regarding by-elections, Zehri stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party is fully prepared and eager for polls to be held in Khuzdar. He acknowledged that elections were postponed due to security concerns, particularly the inability to deploy staff at several polling stations, but stressed the importance of conducting them as soon as possible.

Reaffirming his commitment to party discipline, Zehri announced full support for Mir Shafiq ur Rehman Mengal, stating that all efforts would be made to ensure his success in the الانتخابات. He concluded by saying that maintaining peace, eliminating crime, addressing public issues, and completing development projects remain his top priorities.
