Freezing Cold Grips Quetta, Standing Water Turns to Ice on Roads

**Islamabad:** Severe winter cold in Balochistan has disrupted daily life, with Quetta experiencing a minimum temperature of minus 5°C and Qalat reaching minus 8°C. Sibi recorded a low of 5°C, Gwadar 6°C, and Turbat 9°C.
The extreme cold has caused standing water on roads in Quetta, Qalat, and Ziarat to freeze, while water in household tanks and pipelines has also frozen. Residents of Ziarat and Qalat are facing ongoing difficulties due to reduced gas pressure in the freezing temperatures.
Meanwhile, Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C. According to the Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures are expected to reach up to 22°C, with humidity levels recorded at 48 percent.
