Rupee Shows Slight Strength Against Dollar; Key Currencies See Minor Fluctuations

Islamabad (April 1, 2026): In Pakistan’s interbank market on Wednesday, the Pakistani rupee recorded a slight appreciation against the US dollar, while other major currencies, including the Saudi Riyal, also saw minor changes in the open market.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar fell by three paisas in the interbank market, with its new rate at PKR 279.12 compared to PKR 279.15 the previous day.
Other interbank currency rates recorded were:
Saudi Riyal: PKR 74.36
UAE Dirham: PKR 75.99
Bahraini Dinar: PKR 740.37
Omani Rial: PKR 725.01
Kuwaiti Dinar: PKR 909.92
Qatari Riyal: PKR 76.55
Meanwhile, the Forex Association of Pakistan reported the open market rates on Wednesday as:
US Dollar: Buying PKR 279.00, Selling PKR 280.15
Saudi Riyal: Buying PKR 74.30, Selling PKR 75.45
UAE Dirham: Buying PKR 75.97, Selling PKR 77.27
The minor fluctuations reflect cautious trading sentiment amid ongoing economic developments.
