Saudi Dates Exports Soar to SR 1.7 Billion as Global Popularity Grows

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Palm and Dates is taking effective measures to expand exports of Saudi dates and improve access to international markets, significantly boosting their global popularity.
According to SPA, the initiative aims to increase export volumes, enhance profits, and strengthen the national economy in line with Vision 2030 goals.
The center reported that Saudi dates are now prominently available in major markets across various German cities, gaining popularity among consumers due to their high quality, taste, and versatility in different cuisines. German buyers have praised the dates and expressed interest in including them in their daily shopping.
Under this initiative, products from ten leading Saudi companies are available in over 1,500 branches of 15 major retail chains across more than 14 countries.
The Kingdom has witnessed remarkable growth in the date sector in recent years, driven by increased production and exports. Saudi Arabia’s date production has surpassed 1.9 million tons, while exports have reached SR 1.7 billion, with Saudi dates now shipped to 125 countries worldwide.
The growing popularity in the German retail market is seen as a key step toward further expanding Saudi dates’ reach in other international markets.
