13 Militants Killed in Security Operations in KP; PM Praises Forces

Rawalpindi:Security forces killed 13 militants belonging to an Indian-backed proxy group during two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to ISPR, the operations were carried out on March 30, 2026, in different districts of the province. In the first operation, conducted in the Bara area of Khyber district, security forces targeted a militant hideout after receiving intelligence about their presence. During an intense exchange of fire, 10 militants were killed.
In another intelligence-based operation in Bannu district, three more militants were killed during a gun battle with security forces, the statement added.
ISPR said clearance operations are ongoing in the areas to eliminate any remaining militants operating with alleged foreign backing. The statement further noted that under the National Action Plan and the ongoing Operation Azm-e-Istehkam, security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue efforts to eradicate terrorism from the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for successfully carrying out the operations, stating that their professionalism led to the elimination of militants in Bannu and Bara.
In his statement, the Prime Minister said security forces remain a “steel wall” against terrorism and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completely eliminate the menace from the country.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the forces for their successful actions, saying the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its security personnel in the fight against terrorism. He added that militants and their facilitators would not be spared under any circumstances.
