Government Provides Rs. 4.656 Billion Relief to Electricity Consumers Nationwide

Islamabad (Daily Qudrat): The Power Division has announced that the government has so far provided a total relief of Rs. 46.56 billion to electricity consumers across Pakistan, aiming to shield the public from rising inflation and increasing energy costs.
According to details released by the Power Division, electricity rates have been reduced by an overall Rs. 7.10 per unit. Over the past two years, industrial tariffs were lowered by Rs. 14.44 per unit, bringing the industrial electricity rate down from Rs. 49.19 to Rs. 34.75 per unit.
Data shows that during January and February alone, consumers received net relief of Rs. 26.85 billion. Additionally, Rs. 48 billion was provided under quarterly adjustments, while monthly fuel adjustment measures contributed another Rs. 21.18 billion in relief.
From July to February, a total of Rs. 33.29 billion was delivered to consumers, including Rs. 13.28 billion through monthly fuel adjustments and Rs. 33.29 billion via quarterly adjustments.
The Power Division spokesperson stated that the government absorbed the impact of rising global fuel prices to prevent additional burdens on the public and to limit potential increases in electricity tariffs.
