Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Freezes Departmental Funds, Over Rs 25 Billion Affected

Peshawar (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has halted funds for various departments, affecting over Rs 25 billion allocated for ADP projects and ongoing expenditures.
According to official sources, funds for health cards, hospitals, the BRT, Rescue services, and police have not been withheld. The province has already incurred losses of Rs 9 billion due to border closures.
Sources stated that the federal government was supposed to release Rs 55–60 billion to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the first installment for March, but only Rs 17 billion has been disbursed so far. Additionally, Rs 66 billion meant for TDAPs (Temporary Displaced Persons) have yet to be released by the federal government. The provincial government has paid Rs 15 billion for TDAPs from its own resources.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Mazammil Aslam said that in the wake of the war-like situation, the provincial government is reviewing economic matters and will take measures in the coming weeks based on the financial situation.
