KP Government Plans Cabinet Expansion, 14 New Members Likely to Be Inducted

Peshawar: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has finalized plans to expand its provincial cabinet, with up to 14 new members expected to be inducted.
According to sources, the consultation process for the expansion has been completed and final decisions on potential candidates have also been made. The move aims to improve governance, ensure representation from مختلف districts, and maintain political balance within the province.
Reports suggest that three members from Peshawar and two from Mardan may be included in the cabinet. Additionally, four members are likely to be inducted from southern districts, while one representative each is expected from Dir, Swat, Malakand, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.
Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam Afridi stated that under the constitution, the number of advisers in the province can be up to seven, while there is no clearly defined constitutional limit on the number of special assistants.
The cabinet expansion is expected to strengthen administrative efficiency and broaden regional representation in the provincial government.
