Heavy Rains in KP Claim 9 Lives as Houses Collapse; Dozens Injured

Peshawar: At least nine people, including eight children and a woman, have lost their lives in rain-related incidents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as heavy downpours caused roofs and walls of houses to collapse in multiple .

According to an initial report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), a total of 47 people were injured, including 26 men and 21 children, following continuous rainfall since March 25.

The رپورٹ stated that at least six houses suffered partial damage due to the شدید بارشیں. The most affected districts include Bannu and North Waziristan, where the tragic incidents occurred.

Rescue and relief operations are underway, with PDMA, Rescue 1122, and local district administrations working in coordination to assist affected families. Authorities have directed officials in the impacted areas to ensure immediate provision of relief supplies and financial assistance to the victims’ families.

PDMA has specifically instructed the administration in Bannu to expedite compensation for the families of those who lost their lives and to intensify relief efforts.

Officials warned that intermittent rainfall is expected to continue across the province until Tuesday, raising concerns of further damage.

The Director General of PDMA has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from vulnerable and tourist areas, and strictly follow official advisories.
