PEC Completes Digital Balloting for Graduate Engineer Training Program, Selects 1,700 Graduates

Islamabad: Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has completed the digital balloting process for the second batch of its flagship Graduate Engineer Training (GET) Placement Program, selecting 1,700 engineering graduates for six months of industrial training across the country.

The ceremony was held at PEC’s regional office in Lahore, inaugurated by Chairman Engineer Waseem Nazir, while senior officials and governing body members joined online from the headquarters.

A total of 5,300 candidates applied for the second batch, out of which 3,982 were shortlisted after screening. Ultimately, 1,700 candidates were selected through a transparent digital balloting process.

According to PEC officials, the program is being implemented through dedicated online portals accessible to both training organizations and engineers. Partnerships have been established with leading public and private sector organizations nationwide to provide structured training opportunities.

Out of the total seats, 300 were reserved for engineering graduates from Balochistan, all of which have been filled by candidates from the province. The remaining 1,400 candidates were selected from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Chairman Waseem Nazir stated that the special quota for Balochistan aims to enhance opportunities for youth in the province and integrate them more effectively into the national engineering sector. He described the GET program as a transformative initiative designed to equip young engineers with practical and industrial skills, emphasizing PEC’s commitment to merit, transparency, and equal opportunities.

The fully PEC-funded program follows a “house job”-style model, consisting of five months of field exposure and one month of skills development. Selected participants will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000, along with a jointly issued certificate featuring QR code verification upon successful completion.
