Historic Convergence of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz Highlights Struggle for Rights and Resources: Khushal Khan Kakak Extends Greetings

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP) has highlighted the historic and cultural significance of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz coinciding on March 21, describing it as a unique occasion with religious, cultural, and social importance.
According to a party statement, the day should not only be celebrated with joy and festivity but also serve as a platform to promote peace, public unity, democratic values, and the collective struggle for the legitimate rights of oppressed communities. The statement emphasized that Eid-ul-Fitr conveys a practical message of patience, tolerance, sacrifice, forgiveness, and support for the underprivileged, teaching Muslims to unite against oppression, injustice, and exploitation to establish a society rooted in justice, equality, and human dignity.
The party further noted that Nowruz symbolizes the arrival of spring, renewal of nature, and fresh hopes, reflecting the shared historical and cultural heritage of the region’s people and their collective aspiration for a dignified, prosperous, and peaceful life. Nowruz encourages harmony, tolerance, and mutual respect in society.
Expressing deep concern over the hardships faced by the Lur and Afghan communities, the statement highlighted that prolonged conflicts, political instability, and worsening economic conditions have made daily life extremely difficult. In such challenging circumstances, fostering peace, national unity, tolerance, and dialogue is more crucial than ever to help people move beyond violence, fear, and deprivation toward a secure and hopeful future.
The statement also stressed that many communities in the region and country have long suffered from lack of political power, economic exploitation, and deprivation of basic rights. Their lands’ natural resources, instead of benefiting local populations, have contributed to poverty, unemployment, and underdevelopment, reflecting a highly unjust situation.
PNAP called for meaningful and equitable representation in governmental and administrative structures, ensuring communities’ control over their resources and full respect for their cultural identity, language, and traditions.
In a message, party chairman and National Assembly member Khushal Khan Kakak said the simultaneous arrival of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz signifies that the struggle for rights should advance through political awareness, public unity, constitutional efforts, and democratic processes rather than hatred, conflict, or violence.
The party extended heartfelt greetings to all Muslims and communities celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr and Nowruz, expressing hope that these blessed days will promote peace, equal rights, economic prosperity, social justice, and human fraternity in the region.
