Saudi Arabia Reserves Right to Military Response Against Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Islamabad: Saudi Arabia has declared that it reserves the right to take military action against Iran following recent missile and drone attacks that have heightened tensions across the region.

Saudi officials stated that Iran targeted key locations using ballistic missiles and drones. The escalation comes after Tehran accused Israel of attacking its gas field, further intensifying the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the kingdom has the right to respond if necessary, warning that Iran’s pressure tactics could backfire politically.

The statement was issued after a high-level meeting in Riyadh, attended by foreign ministers from several countries, including Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Qatar, and Syria.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, multiple incoming missiles aimed at Riyadh were intercepted mid-air. However, debris reportedly fell near a refinery in the southern part of the city.

The developments mark a dangerous escalation in the ongoing regional conflict, with potential implications for global oil and gas supplies. Countries including Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia have confirmed attacks on energy facilities, raising concerns over stability in the Gulf.

Despite reserving the right to respond militarily, Saudi Arabia emphasized that diplomacy remains a priority. Officials noted that trust between Riyadh and Tehran has been severely affected, despite the restoration of diplomatic ties in 2023.
