LPG Prices May Surge to Rs500 per Kg Amid Supply Concerns in Pakistan

Lahore: The chairman of the LPG Distribution Association, Irfan Khokhar, has warned that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices could rise to as high as Rs500 per kilogram due to worsening supply shortages.
According to details, Khokhar strongly condemned a raid conducted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on an LPG shipment, calling the कार्रवाई unjustified. He cautioned that continued government interference could disrupt fuel supply during Ramadan, making it difficult for low-income households to afford basic cooking fuel.
He further stated that importers are deeply обеспокоены due to what he described as undue interference by authorities and have threatened to halt further LPG imports in protest.
Khokhar highlighted that Pakistan is already facing a shortage of natural gas, while the import of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has reportedly been suspended since March 14. If the supply situation worsens, LPG prices could soar to Rs500 per kg, placing a heavy burden on consumers.
The association has urged Shehbaz Sharif to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure that raids on LPG shipments are stopped, so that fuel supply remains uninterrupted and affordable for citizens during Ramadan.
