Customs Foils Attempt to Smuggle 85 Tola Gold from Dubai at Quetta Airport

Quetta: Pakistan Customs foiled an attempt to smuggle gold jewelry into the country through passengers arriving from Dubai at Quetta Airport.
According to a customs spokesperson, the action was taken on Sunday when passengers from the same family arriving on Flight FZ-345 from Dubai were screened at the airport.
During the inspection, scanning of their luggage revealed a commercial quantity of prepared gold jewelry.
Customs officials recovered 85 tola of gold jewelry, valued at more than Rs40 million, during the operation.
The spokesperson said that a case has been registered against the individuals involved in the smuggling attempt, and the recovered gold jewelry has been confiscated. Further legal proceedings are underway.
