Cancellation of Asghar Achakzai’s Bail Despite Complainant’s Disinterest Is Contrary to the Requirements of Justice: Senator Nawab Arbab Umar Farooq

CHAMAN (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Acting Provincial President of the Awami National Party and Senator Nawab Arbab Umar Farooq Kasi, expressing deep concern over the cancellation of the bail of Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai, has said that this decision is contrary to the requirements of merit and justice, which is giving rise to questions about the supremacy of law and the judicial system. Addressing a press conference along with central and district office-bearers at the Bacha Khan Hall of Chaman Press Club, Senator Arbab Umar Farooq Kasi said that the complainant in the case has himself made clear that Asghar Khan Achakzai and his family have no connection to the incident; despite this, the cancellation of bail is beyond comprehension. He said that the ANP believes in the supremacy of the Constitution and respect for the courts; however, political leaders should not be made targets of injustice in the name of law. He made clear that the Awami National Party will not sit silent on this matter and will approach all constitutional, legal, and democratic forums for Asghar Khan Achakzai. The history of the ANP is defined by democratic struggle and the rule of the Constitution, and the party will continue its legal battle until justice is secured for its leader.
