Sindh Government Launches Campaign Against Excess Fare During Eid-ul-Fitr

Karachi: Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has instructed authorities to launch a campaign to prevent passengers from being overcharged during Eid-ul-Fitr.

He directed the police, district administrations, NHA, traffic authorities, transport departments, and all relevant agencies to take immediate action against transporters charging extra fares and to submit daily reports on their efforts.

Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that some transporters are arbitrarily increasing fares, placing an additional financial burden on passengers. Providing maximum convenience to the public and preventing unauthorized fare hikes is the fundamental responsibility of the relevant authorities.

He emphasized that strict and impartial action must be taken against those overcharging passengers to ensure safe and affordable travel at government-regulated fares.

The senior minister further instructed all agencies to remain active in the field and promptly address public complaints. He added that the government’s goal is to ensure that every passenger can travel safely during Eid without any extra financial burden.
