Robbery Suspect Arrested After Assault and Firing at Girl in Rawalpindi

Police in Rawalpindi have arrested a suspect involved in a robbery attempt during which a girl was assaulted and fired upon after resisting the attacker.

According to sources, a team formed by SSP Operations Tariq Mehmood carried out the operation and took the suspect into custody. The arrest was made with the help of CCTV footage that captured the incident.

Police identified the suspect as **Sabeel**, who reportedly belongs to Kashmir. A case had earlier been registered at Warish Khan Police Station on the complaint of the victim.

The CCTV footage shows the suspect snatching the girl’s bag, assaulting her, and firing a shot during the robbery attempt. The video also shows the victim bravely resisting the attacker and even chasing him as he fled the scene.

According to reports, the girl was returning home after shopping at Commercial Market when the suspect attempted the robbery in a nearby street.

The footage of the incident later went viral on media and social platforms, prompting investigation teams, including the City Crime Division, to intensify efforts to track down and arrest the suspect.
