Karachi Police Arrest 8, Including 6 Fake Journalists, Over Harassment Incidents

Karachi: Azizabad police have arrested eight individuals, including six posing as journalists, for allegedly harassing shopkeepers and street vendors in various areas of the city.
According to the police, the suspects would visit shops, stalls, and street corners under the pretense of conducting media coverage, often causing disturbances. The group’s activities came to light after an altercation with a shopkeeper in Azizabad.
Responding to the incident, police apprehended the suspects at the scene and transferred them to the local police station. Investigations revealed that the group had created a fake website to present themselves as legitimate journalists.
Authorities identified the ringleader as a man named Tausif, who, along with his accomplices, reportedly harassed citizens across the city. The arrested individuals include Tausif, Shehab, Rehan, Nadeem, Ehtisham, Javed, Adnan, and Salamat.
Azizabad police have registered a formal case against the group and launched a full-scale investigation.
