Young Cricketer Shahzaib Bhatti Announces Retirement from Pakistan Cricket

Karachi: Emerging Pakistani cricketer Shahzaib Bhatti has announced that he is leaving Pakistan cricket permanently, expressing disappointment over lack of opportunities.

In a post shared on X, Bhatti wrote that he is saying goodbye to Pakistan cricket at the age of 24. The message included a broken-heart emoji, reflecting his frustration.

The young player stated that his dream had always been to represent Pakistan national cricket team. He said that despite winning the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final last year—a match widely watched live on television—he was not given opportunities afterward.

According to Bhatti, he remained out of the team for around 40 consecutive matches. He also criticized what he described as politics, corruption, and the lack of a clear structure in Pakistan cricket, saying these issues have damaged the careers of many talented players.

Concluding his message, Bhatti wrote that he now understands why many players choose to leave Pakistan cricket, ending his statement with “Allah Hafiz.”
