Political Leaders Reject Formation of New Divisions in Balochistan, Announce Joint Front

Quetta:** A key meeting was held at **Sarawan House** under the chairmanship of Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani to discuss the provincial government’s decision to create new divisions and the situation arising from it.

The meeting was attended by prominent political leaders, including Nawab Muhammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai and Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, provincial president Qahar Khan Wadan, as well as Aslam Baloch and Changez Hayee Baloch from National Party Pakistan. Malik Faisal Dehwar, General Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Balochistan, also participated in the meeting.

Participants said the government had ignored the **historical and geographical importance of districts** as well as the views of local leadership and political stakeholders while attempting to merge districts into newly proposed divisions. They warned that such **illogical decisions** could increase unrest and instability in Balochistan.

The meeting decided to form a **strong joint front** to oppose what they described as an unnecessary and unjustified decision by the government. Leaders agreed to raise the issue on every available platform and also consider approaching the courts collectively.

Participants also decided to establish contacts with all opposition parties to formulate a joint strategy. They condemned the move, alleging that it could create divisions and tensions between **Baloch and Pashtun communities**.

The meeting further discussed the broader issues faced by both communities and pledged to continue deliberations and work collectively toward resolving their concerns.
