Lahore automates driving license test system

LAHORE: Traffic authorities have completed important steps to make the driving license test process transparent and efficient in Lahore.

Now, there will be less human intervention in the driving test and the system will become more automated.

According to traffic authorities, 44 artificial intelligence-based vehicles have been purchased, which will reach the traffic headquarters next week. Initially, the number of vehicles was kept low but later it was increased to 44. Each vehicle has cost about Rs 4.8 million, while installation of other equipment will cost an additional Rs 4 to 5 lakh.

Officials say that sensors, cameras and biometric machines will be installed in these modern vehicles. All these features will help in making the test process fully automated and transparent. Instead of the traditional manual track, a GPS-based track will now be used, which will improve the quality of the test and end the recommendation culture.

These modern vehicles will be provided to all driving testing centers in Lahore in phases so that citizens get a transparent and reliable driving test experience.
