Karachi Mayor Announces Green Line Common Corridor to Open by October 2026

Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced that the Green Line Common Corridor will be opened to the public by **31 October 2026**.
Speaking at a press conference, he acknowledged that construction of the Green Line project caused inconvenience to residents but assured that the completed project will provide significant relief and improved transportation facilities.
The mayor noted that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) was not taken into confidence when the project was initially launched, but added that all stakeholders are now working together to resolve outstanding issues.
Wahab further stated that the government has also addressed the challenges related to the Red Line BRT project, and formal work on it will begin within the next few days.
Meanwhile, MQM leader Ameenul Haq said that Mayor Murtaza Wahab had earlier pointed out problems related to damaged roads and drainage systems. He confirmed that after discussions with PIDCL, it was established that the mayor’s concerns were valid.
