Interest-Free Loans Distributed to Farmers Under Green Pakistan Initiative in Quetta

Quetta:** A special ceremony was held in Quetta under the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), where interest-free agricultural loans were distributed to farmers as part of the program’s second phase.

The event was attended by the Chief Guest, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, along with senior military and civil officials.

Under the second phase of GPI, 847 farmers were provided interest-free loans worth Rs 3.2 billion. In the first phase, 257 farmers had received Rs 685 million in interest-free loans, which proved successful. Building on that success, the second phase has expanded support to cultivation across 35,609 acres of land through easy and interest-free financing.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that farmer-friendly measures would boost agricultural production, increase exports, and strengthen the province’s economic prosperity.

Farmers welcomed the initiative, describing the interest-free loans and easy repayment plans as a major relief. They expressed gratitude to the Government of Balochistan for launching a program that directly benefits small and underprivileged farmers, calling the facilitation under the Green Pakistan Initiative a commendable step toward agricultural development.
